Now, I am passing on razors before I pass on.
In 1958 my father gave me hie Gillette Super Speed razor, in 1994 my x wife took it with all the other stuff in the house, never got it back, sure do miss that razor.

I own and use 6 Vintage Gillette’s they all shave well, no favorites, all have own personalities.

British New RFB
A nickname coined by collectors that describes the reinforced base plate.
This was to accomodate a permanently fixed handle tube like a Single Ring Old Type razor.
They also came in three piece like the one below it.
looks to be a 1938-9 model with that baseplate pat #.mine is 1939-40 ish with same patent # .but no markings on the handle.earlier ones had a 400621 pat # on the baseplate and mostly silver plated.Our razors are rhodium plated.

Fantastic. Keeping true to the original design. Although I would not look down on Stainless and Bronze. Or any other choice of quality materials really. But the contrast of the Bronze spring on the aluminum handle is definitely something special.

thank you Paul. :) from what I understand,it's(1953) the only year Gillette Canada made a tech in gold.production of all Canadian razors stopped at the end of 1954.the U.S made gold techs from 1940 -53?..
