My “top” favourite brush is me Trubby 2.5 ( 1/2 way between a Simpson 2 & 3)with a 24mm Badger knot made out of Jarrah (curly) hardwood, finished in multiple coats ofAC, made by Troy at Troy Craft in Brisbane, Australia.

My daily for the last 6-7 years after a Seiko 6306 Turtle for 3+ decades.

First honing session of 2026. Took this Tanifuji to a small, buttery vintage coticule. Began with a milky slurry and finished with whisper light strokes on water. HHT off the stone was solid, after stropping on linen, superb!

Saturday is my Iwasaki Kamisori day after 10-12 months I just couldn’t get comfortable with SR’s but no issue now (after numerous “slices”) with a true Kami 👍
