Artist Club SE razors: the "adjustable" you didn't know you had

I don't think this gets talked about enough. Unlike DE blades, which more or less all have same dimensions, SEs come in different lengths and thicknesses which can much more dramatically change the way your razor feels. Here is a comparison of Feather AC blades:

Kai also makes a few blades that I have been able to test:
  • Kai Captain Blades (standard)
  • Kai Captain Titan Mild Blades (mild)
  • Kai Captain Titan Mild ProTouch MG Razor (guarded)
Schick also makes a few but I haven't tried them:
  • Schick - P-20 Proline Artist Club Style (?)
  • Schick - P-30 Proline Artist Club Style (?)
Just like with DE's however, you will need to try these different blades to see which works best for you.

My personal setup is a Wolfman WR4 razor in the mildest gap available. I alternate between Kai MG, Feather Pros, and Feather Pro Supers. This lets my shave experience go from mild to wild depending on what I want that day.

I'm sure this is already known by most of the people here, but figured I'd post for any of the newcomers to this hobby.

FWIW, the Kai Titan mild PINK is also the same depth (8.2mm) as the Feather PRO Super, thus being the only 2 at this depth. All are 50mm long with varying “thickness” between them.
Schick P30 is an AC blade, I believe the P20 is Injector size?
Proshave S is another AC blade, I rate it similar to the Schick P30, not quite as sharp but smoother, YMMV.

This is great information and I never thought of it this way. AC blades give very close shaves as do Weck razors with their own blades. I am a big fan of AC blades.

Thanks for this. I've used the professional as well as the proguard, and admittedly like the guarded ones

The injector blade is “B”, i. e., Schick B-20. The “P” is for AC blades and the number is the amount of blades, you’ll have P-20 and P-30, 20 and 30 blades respectively.

Got a terrific shave with my Feather AC.

A very sound and very forgiving shaver. The OREN by Occams is really a fantastic shaver that is gentle on the face yet very effective at removing the whiskers though one would think not. I’ve settled mostly with the 2 dot plate and a Feather Pro blade for my shaves however, it has worked quite well with a myriad of blades using all 3 plates. I think the floating blade system Occams and Classic Shaving developed for this particular razor is the key to this razor’s ease of use and the excellent comfort that it delivers shave after shave. Not the prettiest razor for certain but, based on performance & results, it’s a non-conventional shave razor success in my experience.
