Shaving Scuttle

Jayaruh

The Kackalacky Kid
I have two shaving scuttles. The soap goes on top and water in the bottom.
I got the top scuttle on eBay. Unfortunately when it arrived it had broken. I glued it back together. Now it is behind glass just for show.

Then a great thing happened. A gentleman on The Shave Den offered to send me one of his. The bottom picture is the one he sent. I use it as a brush holder, setting the brush on the top to air dry. I have used it for shaving once when I did my outside shave.

Hi @Jayaruh i’ve also seen these on eBay over the years mate. Never really thought of getting one to used to using the sink I guess.
I did get this one which was recommended to me recently by a friend and fellow for a member
You put the hot water in the spout, even has a plastic plug and a funnel with it but I think you’d end up burning yourself using the tiny funnel
I’m guessing the hot water softens the soap up when you’re trying to work up a lather. Yet to try it but it didn’t cost much so I thought why not?
Cheers.

If you like hot/warm lather/shave, that is the way to go. Beautiful scuttle.

Here is a prototype scuttle that was gifted to me by my friend Dr.Chris Moss himself along with the prototype brush he worked with Bernd (shavemac) on making. The brush has a variable loft to it...

Some people in hot areas do the Exact opposite and put ice water in it for a cooler experience..
I have exactly that problem @Jaro
Our tap water from the cold tap is lukewarm. That’s a great idea mate. I never thought of that.
Cheers.
